General Description
The Acropora tenuis, commonly known as the Maricultured Bali Acropora tenuis Coral, is a bushy coral that can display vibrant purple or blue colors. It thrives in a well-established aquarium environment with moderate care requirements and is a member of the Acroporidae family.
Demands and Hardiness
Acropora tenuis demands a moderate to high light level and strong alternating water currents within the aquarium for optimal health. To supplement its nutritional needs, it requires additional calcium, strontium, and other trace elements in the water. Although it primarily relies on photosynthesis to meet its requirements, it can benefit from direct feeding on micro-plankton or specialized coral foods.
Lighting
High-intensity lighting is essential for Acropora tenuis, making it suitable for high-output fluorescent bulbs like T5 or more intense options such as metal halide. The coral's coloration can change based on the provided lighting, with some sections potentially altering their hue entirely.
