General Description
Cynarina is a single coralite LPS coral species known for its translucent flesh and a wide array of colors, including shades of red to neon green. The Frost King Indophyllia, a specific species within this genus, showcases a beautiful frosty blue body with a vibrant green mouth.
Demands and Hardiness
Cynarina thrives in moderate lighting conditions typically found on reef slopes. They prefer low water flow to aid in capturing food effectively. This coral relies on its zooxanthellae for sustenance but also benefits from the occasional feeding of meaty foods such as Mysis and Krill in pellet sizes ranging from 5mm to 50mm.
Lighting
Moderate lighting is ideal for Cynarina, enhancing their colorful appearance and overall health.
Water Flow
Low water movement is recommended for Cynarina, as excessive flow can hinder their ability to capture food efficiently.
Feeding
Cynarina primarily feeds on the products of their zooxanthellae but can benefit from supplementary feeding of medium to large-sized pellets like Mysis and Krill.
Propagation
Cynarina is not a suitable candidate for aquaculture in terms of propagation, making them predominantly reliant on wild populations.
Localization & Habitat
Originating from the Indo-Pacific region, particularly Australia, Cynarina thrives in these warm waters with specific water conditions including a pH range of 8.1-8.4, a temperature range of 22.2-25.6°C, and a salinity range of 1.023-1.026.
