General Description
Montipora corals are highly diverse SPS corals known for their wide range of shapes and vibrant colors, making them popular additions to SPS-dominated aquariums and mixed reef tanks. The Neon Green Montipora digitata, in particular, features bright green polyps and a light green base, making it a striking choice for SPS reef enthusiasts.
Demands and Hardiness
Montipora corals are sensitive to changes in tank parameters and require high flow and intense lighting for optimal health and coloration. Maintaining stable water conditions with a moderate to strong water flow is essential for their well-being. These corals are demanding in their care requirements but can thrive when provided with the necessary conditions.
Lighting
Montipora corals thrive in high-intensity lighting setups. Metal Halide lighting, a large bank of high-output fluorescent lights, or LEDs are recommended to enhance their coloration and overall health.
