General Description: Pectinia, commonly known as Antler coral, displays a unique growth pattern featuring pillar and plating structures, giving it an elegant appearance that has evolved from drab to vibrant and colorful varieties available in today's marketplace.

Demands and Hardiness: Pectinia thrives best in low to moderate lighting conditions and requires a constant flow of low to moderate water movement to prevent sediment buildup within its depressions. This coral heavily relies on the products of its zooxanthellae for nutrition and may benefit from supplemental feeding with phytoplankton and small morsels.

Lighting: Pectinia species are recommended to be placed under low to moderate lighting conditions, with lower lighting levels proving to be most favorable for their growth and maintenance.

Water Flow: To maintain optimal health, Pectinia corals require a consistent low to moderate water flow within the aquarium to prevent sediments from accumulating in their structures and affecting their overall well-being.

Feeding: Pectinia corals rely heavily on their symbiotic relationship with zooxanthellae for nutrition, but can also benefit from supplementary feeding with phytoplankton and other small food sources to enhance their growth and vibrancy.

Propagation: Successful fragmentation has been achieved in propagating Pectinia corals, though varieties with sharper ridges may prove more challenging to propagate effectively due to their structural complexities.

Localization & Habitat: Pectinia corals are native to the islands of the Indo-Pacific region, including locations such as Fiji, Tonga, and the Solomon Islands, where they thrive in the warm oceanic waters characterized by specific parameters like pH levels ranging from 8.1 to 8.4, a temperature range of 22.2 to 25.6 degrees Celsius, and a salinity range between 1.023 to 1.026.
