General Description
Psammocora is a small polyp stony coral that may appear velvet-like from a distance but reveals individual polyps up close, characterized by a bright golden/lime green base and neon green growth edges. This coral species is known for its rapid growth and adaptability to various tank conditions, making it a favorable choice for reef enthusiasts.
Demands and Hardiness
Psammocora thrives in low to moderate lighting conditions, although it can tolerate a wide range of light intensities. It is recommended to acclimate them to low to medium light initially to prevent shock. Water flow requirements for Psammocora range from moderate to strong, with the coral appreciating high flow environments similar to other Small Polyp Stony (SPS) corals.
Lighting
Psammocora corals prefer low to moderate lighting levels, although they demonstrate consistent coloration and growth rates across various lighting conditions. It is advisable to start with lower light levels initially to avoid light stress on the coral.
