| Care Description | Turbinaria Scroll Corals form large swirling plates from which beautiful polyps grow. They are relatively slow growing and can be a bit more sensitive than the average large polyp stony coral. They come in a variety of colors the most common being a bright yellow from Indonesia. The specimens originating in Australia sometimes come in a neon green color or cobalt blue color. Please see below for additional care tips for scroll corals. |

General Description
Turbinaria Scroll Corals are known for their large swirling plates that serve as a base for the growth of beautiful polyps. These corals are relatively slow-growing and can be more sensitive compared to other large polyp stony corals. They come in various colors, with bright yellow being the most common from Indonesia, while specimens from Australia may exhibit neon green or cobalt blue hues. The LA Lakers Scroll Coral, for instance, features a deep purple base with yellow polyps, with the intensity of the purple color being influenced by the level of lighting.
Demands and Hardiness
In terms of setup, Turbinaria Scroll Corals thrive under moderate to strong water flow, requiring a decent amount to support their growth. However, their plating cup-like shape can sometimes make them susceptible to being dislodged by strong currents. Therefore, it is essential to securely attach them to the aquascape to prevent any displacement. Additionally, these corals prefer water conditions with a kh range of 8-12, pH levels between 8.1-8.4, a specific gravity of 1.023-1.026, and a temperature range of 22.2-25.6°C.
