General Description

The Silver Branch Pumping Xenia Coral, also known as the Pulse Coral or Waving Hand Coral, is a colonial species featuring multiple individual polyps attached to a solid substrate. As they grow, they form stalks and reproduce. The distinct characteristic of this coral is the eight-tentacle polyps that can pulsate, a behavior that some scientists believe aids in gas and waste disposal.

Demands and Hardiness

Aquacultured Xenia corals are hardier compared to their wild-caught counterparts and have a rapid reproduction rate. They require adequate space between other sessile animals, particularly other soft corals. To thrive, these corals need a medium to high level of lighting and medium to strong water movement within the aquarium. Regular supplementation of iodine and trace elements is essential for their continued well-being.
