The Alestopetersius Sp. 1, commonly traded under incorrect names, remains unidentified yet shows similar behaviors to its valid congener, A. nigropterus. This fish, typically found in the Congo River system, belongs to the family Alestidae, which includes a wide range of African characiform fishes.
Aquarium Setup
For Alestopetersius Sp. 1, a well-researched, larger community aquarium mimicking its natural habitat is essential. This species thrives in planted tanks resembling flowing streams with a substrate of rocks, sand, gravel, and driftwood. Behaviour
