General Description

The Aplocheiloid-toothcarps, specifically the Aphyosemion Mimbon species, are classified under the order Cyprinodontiformes within the Nothobranchiidae family. These fish are relatively small, with a maximum size of about 4.5cm. They were first known to science from a small tributary of the Mv\xE9 River near the village of Akoga in northwestern Gabon, but have also been sighted in other headwater drainages like Abanga, Mbei, Komo, and Nkam. There are reports suggesting that they might also be present in parts of southeastern Equatorial Guinea.
