General Description

The Biota Link's Goby, scientifically known as Amblygobius linki, is a captivating species with horizontal black and white stripes that run along its body. These peaceful fish are native to the Western Pacific, specifically inhabiting mangrove roots and mud flats. They are characterized by their continuous sand sifting behavior, making them valuable in aerating and cleansing sand beds.

Aquarium Suitability

Link's Gobies thrive in aquariums of at least 20 gallons that are well-established, containing ample live rock and a fine to moderately sized sand substrate. They are relatively easy to care for and are compatible with both novice and experienced aquarists. These fish have been raised on various foods such as Mysis, frozen spirulina brine shrimp, Cyclops, pellets, and flakes.

Demands

The Biota Link's Goby is hardier than its wild-caught counterparts, adapting well to the conditions of home aquariums. They are semi-aggressive and territorial, particularly towards their own kind if not a mated pair. A secure, tight-fitting canopy is essential as they have a tendency to jump out of the aquarium.

Reef Suitability

Reef enthusiasts will appreciate the reef compatibility of the Link's Goby. They coexist harmoniously in reef setups, adding elegance and activity to the marine environment.
