Behaviour:

The Schooling Bumblebee Goby is unlikely to thrive in a community tank and is best suited to a species-specific setup. They are known for their unique behaviors and may not interact well with other fish species.

Feeding and Diet:

Similar to other gobies, live foods such as Artemia and Daphnia are essential for the Schooling Bumblebee Goby. While some specimens may eventually accept frozen alternatives, dried products are typically ignored by this species.

Reproduction & Dimorphism:

Detailed species identification can be challenging within the Brachygobius genus, with the Schooling Bumblebee Goby potentially being confused with other similar-looking species. This goby's reproductive behaviors and dimorphism characteristics may vary depending on its specific classification within the genus.

Aquarium Setup:

For this small-sized goby, a minimum tank size of 40 litres is recommended (see table). The ideal aquarium setup should mimic the goby's natural habitat, providing plenty of hiding spots and suitable water conditions for their well-being.

Habitat and Distribution:

Originally described from Dumaguete, Oriental Negros, Philippines, the Schooling Bumblebee Goby has also been recorded in the lower Mekong, Vietnam. However, due to potential misidentification issues, the exact distribution range of this species remains uncertain.
