General Description
Brachygobius Xanthozonus, commonly known as the Bumblebee Goby, is a species classified under the order Perciformes. This species is often misidentified in aquarium literature, with few live specimen images available. It is distinguishable by its unique characteristics, such as around 50 lateral scales, four black bands on the body, entirely black anal fins, and 10 rays in the second dorsal and anal fins.
Aquarium Setup
The Bumblebee Goby, with a maximum size of 3.8cm, requires an aquarium set up that mimics its natural habitat. Care should be taken to replicate lowland, coastal, fresh, or brackish water environments like mangrove swamps, estuaries, and tidal streams. Moderate lighting, sandy substrate, and places for hiding spots are essential for their well-being (see table).
Behaviour
