General Description

Hypoptopoma incognitum, commonly known as the Incognito Hypoptopoma, is a species belonging to the Loricariidae family. It has a maximum size of 9.5 cm and is widely distributed across various regions, including the central and lower Amazon basin, the Rio Tocantins, and some minor rivers in northeastern Brazil.

Aquarium Setup

A minimum tank size of 72 litres with base dimensions of 80 cm x 30 cm is recommended for housing Hypoptopoma incognitum. The water parameters should range from a pH of 6.0-7.5, hardness of 1-10°dH, and a temperature between 23.9-27.8°C. For a detailed setup, refer to the provided table.

Behaviour
