General Description

Echinodorus 'Tricolor' is a cultivated aquatic plant originating in the Czech Republic, first introduced to the hobbyist market in 2004. This variety, named for its three-colored leaves, features oblong-ovate leaf blades with an obtuse tip, reduced basis, and a slightly undulate margin. The leaves can grow up to 15 cm in length and 8 cm in width, with long leaf stalks reaching up to 15 cm. Initially light green, young leaves may display pinkish hues and brownish dots, maturing to a darker green color. It is relatively easy to cultivate and can exhibit flower stalks with adventitious plants in an aquarium setting.
