General Description
Native to central and southern Japan, Rotala hippuris is a plant that bears resemblance to the submersed form of R. wallichii but distinguishes itself with larger sprouts and reddish-brown stems. It is often found in the market under the trade names "Pogostemon stellatus 'Superfine'" and Rotala sp. "Vietnam." The distinction between R. hippuris and Rotala sp. "Vietnam" is yet to be definitively established.
