General Description

The Bumble Bee Shrimp, scientifically known as Gnathophyllum americanum, is a small shrimp species commonly found in the Indo-Pacific region. With a maximum size of only 2.5cm, these shrimps have a predominantly yellow or white body adorned with black stripes, reminiscent of the coloration of a bumblebee. Their legs and tails may also display orange markings, adding to their striking appearance. Belonging to the family Gnathophyllidae, these shrimp are closely related to the Harlequin shrimp and exhibit a peaceful temperament.
