General Description

The Orange Line Chromis, scientifically known as Acanthochromis polyacanthus, is a striking fish species characterized by having a lighter coloration with an orange stripe running along its sides when young. Belonging to the Pomacentridae family, this fish can grow up to 15.0cm in size and is primarily found in the Western Pacific region, ranging from Indonesia and the Philippines to northeastern Australia and Melanesia.

Aquarium Suitability

This species is considered suitable for most aquarium setups, thriving well in captivity when provided with the appropriate care and environment. Orange Line Chromis are known to live in pairs, usually consisting of a male and a female, and they exhibit hardy characteristics, making them a popular choice among aquarists. They require a minimum tank size of 400 liters and are compatible with a variety of tank mates in a well-established aquarium.

Orange Line Chromis are classified as hardy fish, able to adapt well to different water conditions within the parameters of a pH between 8.1-8.4, a dKH of 8-12, specific gravity of 1.020-1.025, and a temperature range of 22.2-25.6°C. Their hardy nature makes them resilient to fluctuations in water quality, suitable for both beginner and experienced aquarium enthusiasts.

These fish are classified as always reef-safe, making them an excellent choice for reef aquariums. Orange Line Chromis are known to coexist peacefully with various coral species and other reef inhabitants, adding vibrancy and activity to the reef environment.

To best accommodate Orange Line Chromis in an aquarium, it is recommended to provide ample swimming space and hiding spots among live rock formations. Behaviour
