This species exhibits sexual dichromatism, with males showcasing a predominantly pinkish red hue, while females exhibit paler pink tones with yellow-green gradations on their fins.

Aquarium Suitability

This species is deemed suitable for aquariums and is particularly recommended for nano reef setups. However, it should be noted that the Ring Eyed Dottyback can be quite secretive, often hiding within the rockwork. While they are not overly aggressive towards other tankmates, they may exhibit territorial behavior, especially towards smaller, passive species like nano gobies in smaller setups. It is advisable to keep only one Ring Eyed Dottyback per tank unless the aquarium is sufficiently large to reduce potential conflicts.

This species requires a minimum tank size of 37 liters and thrives in water conditions with a temperature range of 72-78°F, a pH of 8.1-8.4, and a specific gravity of 1.023-1.025.
